Well opening day is almost here… just hours away and counting down…
and THIS Year Dunkin Stadium; home of the Hartford Yard Goats, will actually open on it’s scheduled date and time!
Something which it failed to do last year due to all the many building and legal troubles plaguing the; shady done in back rooms to cheat out on the city of New Britain, town council deal from 2013/14…
Not personally a fan of baseball to start with, I was against the building of the stadium using taxpayer monies from the get go… as a taxpaying homeowner like many others I resent that due to the many legal troubles that the city of Hartford over the mismanagement of city funds that we in the suburbs are being forced to pay for this project which doesn’t really do much to benefit current residents of the north end of Hartford who lost a supermarket deal with the stadium going in.

With all of the legal stuff going on, the stadium which had problems with work stopping and starting and then off again with new people needing to be brought in to finish up, I do hope that eventually the citizens of the north end of Hartford will be able to benefit.
We can all hope that the stadium will do well, but no matter how pretty it might be (if you can call the building pretty) the questions are…
“Will the Public Come as Paying Ticket Holders?”
“Will people bring their families to the edge of the north end of Hartford which has a reputation for drugs and gags and shootings?”
After all the money that has been wasted on this project I do hope that the team stays in town and some how against the odds the stadium can turn an actual profit…
But the democrats in power seem to have a knack for making businesses and jobs leave the state after giving them millions of taxpayer dollars and tax breaks so I’m not holding out my breath on this turning out to be profitable…
So let’s see if this year at least if they can get and keep the stadium filled with baseball fans cheering
“Let’s Go Yard Goats!!! Chomp Chomp Chomp!!”
You may have heard about the Special Elections that will be occurring on Feb 28th in the 2nd State Senate & 32nd State Senate districts due to 2 state senators quitting rather than taking office after the November 8th 2016 elections…
This will be an interesting election to watch because…
The 32nd District will have 3 candidates on the ballot with Dan Lynch an UnAffiliated Candidate being given ballot access after getting the required number of signatures to gain access to the ballot.
Dan will be able to apply for the CEP funding if he is able to raise the funds & number of in district donations required, so that is the goal he is working towards now.
If you live in the 32nd you will have a very tough choice to make because I met both Eric Berthel & Dan Lynch & both are fine men.
I’ve not met the democrat but the mere fact that he’s with the democrat party I could never consider him for office so neither should you
Sadly I will not be on the ballot for the Special Election in the 2nd state senate district…
I have heard rumor but haven’t seen confirmation yet but there may also be a 3 way race with Atty Aaron Romano on the Working Families Party ballot line since he did not get the Republican nomination after switching parties? He announced he had $8,000 raised when he presented at the Windsor RTC meeting prior to the convention on Jan 19th.
Mike McDonald will be on the Republican line and State Rep Doug McCrorey on the Democrat line… Both men are expected to be receiving the CEP Funding Grant for their campaigns once the SEEC finishes with their submitted paperwork.
I will post an update once I get confirmation with links as to who is officially on the ballot in the 2nd senate race.
Normally in Special Elections the Republicans pick up the seats because the democrats do not show up to vote as much during the off election voting sessions…
#BeggingForBailOut tour stopped in Rocky Hill CT on Monday Dec 12th 2016
It was almost a full house after all, the video camera view that I initially saw showed a bunch of empty seats but another video showed that the room was mostly full & some people were standing together in the back of the room talking among themselves…
I watched a live stream of the meeting while it was happening in Rocky Hill
Hartford’s mayor pitches regionalization to Rocky Hill
The link above goes to the Fox61 article – For some reason I’m unable to get the video player to post properly so I’ve posted the video over on the other blog & it seems to post properly over there

There will now be an International Flavor for the Mohegan Sun Brand
This report has the newest expansion being put over in South Korea & it will be a big expansion…
In light of this news the question that comes to my mind is why the push for a new rinky dink casino in CT on non-tribal land?
Are they just looking for a quick boost to finance this project overseas?
How committed are they planning to be to us in CT when they’ve slashed their own profits in CT already by opening a competing casino in the tourism region of the Poconos PA?
There are only so many gamblers in CT, MA, NY & NJ… where there was little competition in the past they now have other casinos but they additionally slashed their own profits (and ours too since CT was supposed to get a cut of the pie) by opening in PA.
Since it’s opening in PA which was drawing away people who wanted to do several things on vacation the profits have gone down here in CT.
Better Tourism Dept in PA was part of the key for CT’s profits loss because many people decided if they were going to drive for 2 hours they would rather have a destination that offered more than just drinking & gambling & expensive shopping.
PA has it’s tourist destinations clearly marketed & it’s actually warmer longer there earlier in the year.
The question is why are CT’s Historical Sites being destroyed for cookie cutter crap instead of promoting CT’s History Richness?

We’re coming to the end of the month & the end of the fund raising quarter
We need your assistance to fight the Taxing Tyrants in Hartford.
Will you help us with a donation of $20.16 or more in our fight against the #TaxingTyranny of the democrats in our capitol hill? These career politicians are well funded & working hard to keep their positions of power over us.
We are working towards bringing some sanity to our crazy capitol hill. The career politicians have lost touch with the reality of what they do up there on capitol hill is hurting our families every day.
Do they think we all have money trees growing in our yards?
Taxes are hurting us as we pay increased prices for everything now to start with but on top of that our elected officials have added more taxes. Oh they love to say it’s just a little tax but it’s slashing into our family budgets a thousand little slashes everyday.
We need YOUR Help to fight the career politicians in Hartford,

Channel 8 News is reporting about the Barn Fire that nearly killed 200 piglets
Have you noticed that there seems to be an increase not just in crime but in reports of fires? Is it that I’m just noticing them more or is there an actual increase in the number?
Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that killed nearly 200 piglets and 18 sows at Maple Hill Farm.
