Taxation Is Theft?

I’m not happy with taxes increasing like most people who have to pay them; but when does it become THEFT vs Necessity as a Part of living in a civilized society?

want vs need man balancing

Our elected officials seem to have a serious problem telling the difference between what is a WANT and what is a NEED for the state of CT…

This seems to be an extremely painful problem for our families who have to suffer under the increasing taxes to pay for all of the Fun but Not Needed Wants that the democrats want to keep imposing upon us

A big part of our budget problem in CT are all of the special projects that fall in the “Fun BUT… It’s Only a WANT” category like Pipedream Fancy “Tunnels Under the River”, Fancy Busway Bus Stops for almost empty buses that create traffic jams downtown while doing little to relieve the traffic problems that we were told they would do all to great expense to our families…

So now our poorest children will be punished because their lunches, sodas and the grocery bags that their parents use to bring home the groceries will have added taxes on them to cover the subsidies that the governor has given out to his special friends & the projects that they want to force upon us.

CT Tax Freedom Day Rally

Are you going to be there on Sunday the 21st for the CT Tax Freedom Rally?

While April 24, 2017 is the National average date, of when Americans have finally earned enough to pay for their portion of Federal, State, and local taxes – CT is the last state to reach that marker…27 days later. It comes down to about 38% of our yearly income. The next closest state is NJ which is May 12th.

Granted, the Federal government has increased some of the taxes we pay, and has pushed our Tax Freedom Day back. Unfortunately for CT, over the past 6 yrs, CT residents and businesses have seen two $2 Billion tax increase budgets, courtesy of the Democrat Trifecta in CT, which moved us even further back. In 2010, the National TFD average was April 9th and CT was April 27th, a 16 day difference. At the time, it was about 32% of our yearly income.

This year, the Democrats, in the Legislature, are again looking…

Tax Sale Windsor April 22 2017

Windsor Properties to be Sold at Tax Sale on April 22

The Town of Windsor will conduct a tax sale on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Ludlow Room located on the lower level of town hall. Bidder registration will be at 8:00 AM and the sale will begin at 10:00 AM.Sixteen properties have been identified for the sale.  These properties have been delinquent on tax payments for three or more years or have more than $20,000 due in back taxes and have not made payment arrangements with the town.  The owners of the properties identified for sale have received a letter from the Town Attorney, and a final notice from the tax office.  They have either not responded, or have not paid enough on their account to date to be removed from the sale.

The property owners still have the opportunity to bring their accounts current up through April 21, 2017 to be removed from the actual sale.  If they do not, the property will go up for auction on April 22, 2017.  At that point, if the property sells at the auction, the owner will have a six month redemption period to reclaim their property.  To do so, they will need to reimburse the winning bidder the amount that was due to the Town of Windsor at the time of sale (minimum bid), in addition to 18% (1.5% per month) interest on the total winning bid.  The final day that they would be able to redeem the property will be October 23, 2017.

Since They Built It will the Public Come?

Well opening day is almost here… just hours away and counting down…

and THIS Year Dunkin Stadium; home of the Hartford Yard Goats, will actually open on it’s scheduled date and time!

http://www.milb.com/schedule/index.jsp?sid=t538

Something which it failed to do last year due to all the many building and legal troubles plaguing the; shady done in back rooms to cheat out on the city of New Britain, town council deal from 2013/14…

Not personally a fan of baseball to start with, I was against the building of the stadium using taxpayer monies from the get go… as a taxpaying homeowner like many others I resent that due to the many legal troubles that the city of Hartford over the mismanagement of city funds that we in the suburbs are being forced to pay for this project which doesn’t really do much to benefit current residents of the north end of Hartford who lost a supermarket deal with the stadium going in.

With all of the legal stuff going on, the stadium which had problems with work stopping and starting and then off again with new people needing to be brought in to finish up, I do hope that eventually the citizens of the north end of Hartford will be able to benefit.

We can all hope that the stadium will do well, but no matter how pretty it might be (if you can call the building pretty) the questions are…

“Will the Public Come as Paying Ticket Holders?”

“Will people bring their families to the edge of the north end of Hartford which has a reputation for drugs and gags and shootings?”

After all the money that has been wasted on this project I do hope that the team stays in town and some how against the odds the stadium can turn an actual profit…

But the democrats in power seem to have a knack for making businesses and jobs leave the state after giving them millions of taxpayer dollars and tax breaks so I’m not holding out my breath on this turning out to be profitable…

So let’s see if this year at least if they can get and keep the stadium filled with baseball fans cheering

“Let’s Go Yard Goats!!! Chomp Chomp Chomp!!”
